Letter to the editor: Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition discontinues discussions over tribal objections with Public Lands Initiative
On Dec. 31, the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition sent a formal letter to Utah Congressmen Rob Bishop and Jason Chaffetz discontinuing discussions over including tribal objectives in the congressmens' Public Lands Initiative (PLI).

Letter to the editor: Navajo leadership weakening Nation
I was inspired by the letter from Irma Bluehouse and Milton Bluehouse Jr., on thoughtless statements by leaders on water rights. The Bluehouse's are correct, there is no "New Dawn," just more dark dusk.

The shooting at Northern Arizona University was a sad event to hear about. Knowing that the shooting happened not that far from home is mind blowing. Also, knowing that I attended a workshop there at NAU this summer is scary.

The 8-foot tall, 1,000 pound "Native Warrior" memorial metal bronze sculpture representing Vietnam veterans should be placed near the Code Talker Memorial at the Veterans Memorial Park in Window Rock, Arizona.
