Winslow City Council meeting highlights include, drainage, loose dogs and recycling

WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow City Council met Aug. 28. Meeting highlights included -

• Councilman Bob Schlesinger reported that he was contacted by citizens concerned with West End drainage problems and loose dogs attacking pets.

• The city will begin its annexation process, starting with the area holding the two water storage pressure tanks.

• The library has new downloadable E-Books and audio books and a dedicated Job Search computer.

• Pioneer Forest Products is proceeding with necessary development and will present to the Forest Service the final contract in December.

• Allen Rosenbaum reported that the dredge at Clear Creek is cleaning 19 hours a week.

• Waste Management will present a curbside recycling proposal on Sept. 25.

• Rosenbaum said that the South Side Water line is complete and final documentation is scheduled, the La Posada Hotel has a new water line and service.

• Animal Control is upgrading their facility with improved cooling and heating.

• Winslow Chamber of Commerce CEO Bob Hall presented the annual report and mentioned that recent bed tax revenue was up for first time in five years.

• Ken Evans asked the Council for support in obtaining a 1946 rail passenger car donated from Prescott.
