Winslow Bulldogs open season Aug. 30 against Holbrook Roadrunners

WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow Bulldogs open their 2013 football season against the Holbrook Roadrunners at Emil Nasser Stadium Aug. 30 with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. Winslow's 10 game schedule is evenly split with five home games and five on the road. Winslow and Holbrook's junior varsity teams are slated to play at Holbrook Aug. 29 at 6 p.m.

After that rival game opener things get more difficult for the Bulldogs because their next three games are against state championship contenders.

Winslow's second game is a tough test against the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets Sept. 6 at Emil Nasser Stadium. All of Winslow's varsity contests are slated for 7 p.m. kickoffs. The Winslow and Blue Ridge junior varsity teams are slated to play in Winslow as well on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs will be on the road for their third game when they meet the Round Valley Elks at Eagar on Friday at 7 p.m. The Winslow and Round Valley junior varsity teams meet Aug. 12 in Winslow at 6:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs journey to Snowflake in another tough road trip for their fourth game to meet the always formidable Lobos on their home field with a 7 p.m. kickoff Sept. 20. Winslow hosts a junior varsity game with Snowflake at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

The fifth game of the season is at Estrella Foothills High School in the Phoenix area at 7 p.m. Sept. 27. The Winslow junior varsity team plays the Flagstaff High School Eagles junior varsity team on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. in Flagstaff.

The Bulldogs return home for the first of five sectional games against the Window Rock Scouts at 7 p.m. Oct. 4. The Winslow and Window Rock junior varsity teams play at Window Rock on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs play the Monument Valley Mustangs at Kayenta Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. The Winslow junior varsity team plays host to Monument Valley Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.

Winslow plays host to the Ganado Hornets in a sectional game Oct. 18. The Winslow junior varsity will play Ganado at Ganado Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.

The final home game of the regular season is Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. against the Chinle Wildcats. The Winslow and Chinle junior varsity teams play in Chinle Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in the last game of the season for the Bulldog junior varsity.

The final game of the regular season is Nov. 1 against the Page Sand Devils at Page at 7 p.m. Any post season play will depend on the results of regular season games.
