Winslow Bulldog wrestlers fall to Holbrook
Team competes in Holbrook Invitational Friday and Saturday

WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow High School wrestling team opened the 2012-13 season with a 56-17 loss to the Holbrook Roadrunners in a dual meet in Winslow Nov. 19.

The Bulldogs will compete in a multi-team event at Coconino High School in Flagstaff tonight. The team will compete in the Holbrook Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Blane Foster got the Bulldogs off on the right foot when he pinned Samuel Plumb of Holbrook in the 106-pound match. Theron Johns of Holbrook pinned Winslow's Tyrail Smith in the 113-pound match and Levi McClellan of Holbrook pinned David Archibeque in the 120-pound match to give the Roadrunners the lead. Caleb McClellan kept things going for the Roadrunners in the 126-pound match, pinning Leo Armijo of the Bulldogs.

In the 132-pound match, James Ramirez of Holbrook won a 9-7 decision over Winslow's Daniel Lopez. Michael McMonigal of

Adrian Montoya pinned Holbrook's Jedde Bowman for the win in the 145-pound match. James Martinez kept that streak alive, pinning his namesake James Martinez of Holbrook in the 152-pound match.

Kevin Self of Holbrook righted things for the Roadrunners in the 160-pound match, pinning Jack Fela of Winslow. Logan Tsniginnie won the 170-pound match on a technical fall over Dustin Key of Winslow. Nikko Ferniza of Holbrook won a 4-3 decision over Winslow's Jacob Huddleston in the 182-pound match.

Shem Bowman of Holbrook pinned Chad Colvin of Winslow in the 195-pound match. CJ Plumb of Holbrook pinned Justin Brinkley of Winslow in the 220-pound match. Mathew Gishi of Holbrook won the 285-pound and final match on a forfeit.
