Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation announces new CEO
Kevin Lombardo selected as Chief Executive Officer
Navajo-Hopi Observer

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation (HTEDC), the economic development entity of the Hopi Tribe, announced the selection of Kevin Lombardo as Chief Executive Officer effective September 19, 2012.

Lombardo served as the acting CEO for the HTEDC since March. During his interim tenure, Lombardo led the planning process for HTEDC, becoming familiar with the entities of the HTEDC and implementing recommended changes from his assessment of the organizations' enterprises and culture.

Lombardo brings 30 years of executive leadership experience and expertise to the HTEDC, having served as CEO, president and executive vice president with various public and private corporations across the U.S. Lombardo has been involved for over five years in Indian Country through his association with Blue Stone Strategy Group, through which he gained an understanding and respect of the cultural sensitivities of tribally-owned enterprises and governments. Having served as both a corporate executive and as a consultant, Lombardo understands both the short-term and long-term needs of organizations such as the HTEDC.

The HTEDC will benefit from Lombardo's expertise in their efforts to fulfill their role of economic development on behalf of the Hopi people.

The Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation owns and operates, on behalf of the Hopi Tribe, the following entities: Hopi Cultural Center motel and restaurant on Second Mesa; Days Inn Kokopelli in Sedona; the Hopi Travel Plaza off Interstate 40 near Holbrook; ranches near Winslow, Springerville and Flagstaff; as well as Flagstaff area properties Heritage Square downtown, Kachina Square on Route 66 and Continental Plaza on the eastside.
